About me

I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls Ella and Amy, and I live on the North Essex coast close to my family and where I was born.

My girls were a big reason for my decision to leave the corporate leadership roles I have loved in order to set up my own business. Over the past few years they have grown into beautiful and talented women, working and studying now away with their own careers to develop. My want now is to create true balance between my passions in life – with my partner, our family, my work and our love of travel and the water at heart.

Volunteering has always been a big part of my life, woven into my work. Alongside my corporate VP roles I spent many years volunteering at weekends as a coach on training courses for the Kairos Foundation, a not for profit created by clinical psychologist and student of Victor Frankl, Dr K. Bradford Brown and Dr Roy Whitten. I became an accredited trainer for the power self esteem (confidence building) and the power of connection (relationship building and conflict resolution) which is where I learned, taught and practiced the fundamentals of attitudinal intelligence which is central to my work as an consultant, teacher, facilitator and exec coach.

I expanded my volunteering 5 years ago to supporting the homeless with Crisis, working Christmas week for 3 years in South East London which led to a training engagement where I directly supported the Crisis coaching team and those getting themselves back on their feet and into work. In 2018, I took on a Board Trustee position with Farleigh Hospice, became Vice Chair and led Corporate Governance committee, supporting the continued growth of the Charity and its impact in my local community.

Other loves of mine include anything where I can learn, be challenged and get to practice what I preach when it comes to managing my mindset! 10 years ago I took up open water swimming – a passion that has spawned many challenges that has seen me train for, and compete in, races across Lake Windemere, Loch Lomond, Alton Water, Salford Quays and a 5.25 mile swim end to end of Coniston Water in the Lake District which I have now completed 4 times. My racing days may be coming to an end but I make time weekly for swimming, paddle boarding and rowing around the coast and waterways of Essex.

For 18 months for my own continuous professional development, I worked as a trainer and exec coach with international consultancy Whitten Roy on a Global Sales programme for BT which taught me a lot about how to engage across cultures, and some of the pitfalls of training programme roll outs with a set format.  I studied with Toke Moeller CEO of Interchange who has worked extensively with the European Commission to refresh my facilitation expertise and in doing so created a powerful network of facilitators and graphic illustrators across Europe who I have been able to refer to my clients over the years.

Closer to home I have a valuable network in place to support clients where the scale of the work requires a team approach. I have worked alongside Emma Gunton, former recruiter and owner a very successful HR training and development consultancy, for the last 10 years to support mutual clients as a consultant.  Emma now works as a coach and supports me in the teaching space to co-facilitate mentoring, networking, EI and confidence building workshops where I am training larger cohorts for my clients. Josie Copsey is another member of my team of associates whose expertise in coaching and leadership behaviour profiling I hugely value.  Josie has worked alongside me with a number of my clients, where her style and commitment to helping clients believe in themselves and profiling to help individuals leverage their strengths, provides a great entry point for trust building.

Alongside my work, I have studied with Atarangi Muru, my friend, teacher and healer from Ahipara, Far North, New Zealand.  I have spent time in New Zealand and Europe learning from and supporting Ata and her team of Maori Healers. The ancestral teachings, massage techniques and daily practices are designed to support alignment, presence and aliveness through the body rather than the mind. Something that I am applying for myself, my family and friends. My partner and I are about to embark on a tour of New Zealand early 2024 and I shall be training with Ata and her team in Europe later in the year.
